Rainbow Trout

Trout season is from mid-June through late October (until the water drops too low or freezes). Fish for native rainbow trout and dolly varden char in the 3 to 15 pound class and each year world class trout in the 15 pound class. We do keep a few trout to eat but it is a limited amount. On light tackle, spinning or fly rods, trout can challenge even the most experienced anglers. Spending a day pursuing trout and dollys should be part of every fisherman's Kenai River experience.
